If you are in the northwest, here is an opportunity to pick up some sturdy panels at a reasonable price! There are a limited number of 8 foot, 10 foot and 10 foot panels with gates for sale. Here is a picture of one of the 8 foot panels leaned against the back of a semi trailer. Here are the basics:
- about 7 foot 9 inches long
- made from 1.5 inch diameter galvanized pipe
- there are no hooks on the ends - use straps, zip ties, bolt them to posts, etc.
- the panel shown in this picture has post legs that make the bottom gap ~14 inches, with out the legs the gap would be about 2.5 inches
- other 8' panels have hoop legs - the vertical pipe comes to the ground and then loops back up in a "J" shape up to the bottom rail (see the left hand end of the 10 ft gate shown below for an example).
- spacing between the rails is approximately 10 inches, height is about 60 inches
- these are for sale for $30 a piece
The 10 foot panels:
- measure 9 feet 9 inches
- do not have "extension legs" so the bottom rail has a ground clearance of about 2.5 inches
- same as 8 ft panels - no hooks on ends so use straps, zip ties, etc.
- spacing between the rails is about 10 inches and same number of rails as 8 ft gate shown above
- between 50 and 51 inches tall
- 1.5 inch galvanized pipe
- these are for sale for $40 a piece.
The 10 foot panels with gates:
- 10 feet long
- the door opening is about 4 feet wide
- and gate is secured with a chain that goes over a hook
- the gate can be hinged on either side of the opening
- no hooks on ends of panels - use straps, zip ties, etc. to link together
- when walking through the gate frame, the clearance is about 71 inches
- These are for sale for $50 a piece.
